The U.S. Embassy in Bogota, Colombia began to resume E visa processing for investor visa applications on a limited basis. According to the Department of State, the embassy has begun to reach out to all E visa applicants that applied for investor visas prior to the embassy’s closure in September 2020. They have also reached out to applicants seeking to renew their E visas and informed them on how to submit their documentation. Upon receipt of their documentation, they will move forward with scheduling of appointments for the applicants.

For new E visa applications, the embassy is not opening appointments in the online scheduling system. Applicants must first submit the E visa application to the U.S. Embassy in Bogota via email to: NIVBogota@state.gov. Once the applicant is deemed documentarily qualified, the embassy will schedule the E visa appointment. However, at this time, it is not clear whether the embassy is accepting new E visa applications. Our firm will continue to monitor this situation and will update opportunely.
